Happy NawRuz! Happy New Year!

Baha'is worldwide celebrated the new year all around the globe on March 21, 2009! Here in Oakland County there was a party attended by nearly 200 family and friends. We assembled at 7 p.m., enjoyed a brief program of video, readings and prayers in several languages. This was followed by our break-the-fast oriental buffet dinner at sunset. We enjoyed talking and sharing our friends and relatives with our Baha'i family. Kids of all ages danced and played and danced some more! I created a short video of the party. Our party puts life into the Baha'i scripture: "Ye are the fruits of one tree and the leaves of one branch, the flowers of one garden." Enjoy!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TWINS !!!!!!!!!

So alike!
So Different!
The Ying/Yang Sisters!

What a roller coaster ride we've been on!

Like I always said, mom and I were traveling down the highway of life without a care in the world!
That was BK.... before kids....

We knew we wanted children someday...

Had I known then what I know now,
I wouldn't have been so ego-centric...

Kati and Christi, and Elizabeth too,
you have brought us so much joy,
so much to enrich our lives,
so much to be proud of...
(and so much drama too...)

BK, I thought that having kids
would be a drag on my life...

Now I know the truth...
My true life began when I met each of you...

Happy Birthday!

Make this your best year ever!!!

Love,

Dad

New Blog on the Horizon

I've taken the plunge and am composing the first article for my new blog, Horizons. Simple tasks take on amazing difficulty, as I angonize over what to name the blog... I don't know enough about the blog process yet... Perhaps I think too much and take it too seriously! Of the several names I considered: Tranquility, Seasons, Civilization(s?), Peace, GardenSpot, Decisions, Choices, ...and the list is never-ending. I'm sure this blog will slowly take shape, and somehow the name Horizons seems to encapsulate the spirit-lifting qualities that I hope this blog will reflect.
